Merlin S3 previewing at BFI on 5 September!
The BFI program for September has just been released - and as happened last year, they are previewing the new season of Merlin! And, in fact, the first two episodes!!! Which I'm sure will be totally awesome. They 'hope to welcome cast members and crew for a panel discussion and Q&A'.

It's on Sunday 5 September, with a workshop from 11:30 and the screening from 13:00.

Tickets go on sale as follows:
  • 11:30 on 2 August for BFI Champions (an expensive form of membership!)
  • 11:30 on 3 August for BFI Members
  • 10 August for everyone else
(I will keep this post updated with further details as I learn them.)

ETA: The event is now (a little belatedly) showing on the website's September programme.

Click on the image below to see a larger version in a new window!

ETA: Some info on ticket prices below the cut...
ETA2: Also a seating chart current as at 18:53 on 4 August...

Click on the image below to see a copy of the full page.

So... If I'm reading this right, adults' tickets are £7.60 (or £5.25 if you have a concession, or £5.00 if you have a child with you). Elsewhere (on the Merlin page itself) it indicates that the kids' price of £1.00 does not apply to previews, so I assume kids' tickets are £5.00.

And maybe this is the only thing where it matters whether you have a kid with you or not... But I'm still not entirely clear on that point. And I don't want to ask the BFI just in case they turn around and do it cos they think it's a good idea! :-/

If anyone else interprets the pricing differently to me, please let me know! :-)

ETA2: The seating currently looks like this, so there's still about a hundred tickets left... No doubt not enough! But I'm hoping there'll still be some available on 10 August.

OMG, they'll show BOTH episodes... I'm insanely jealous but hope everyone'll have a lot of fun nonetheless. *cries*

Thank you so much for the scan, darling! ♥

Gosh, yes - both! Which is especially good news after Dale just tweeted about how wonderful they are...

Will miss having your company, my darling. You are intrinsic to my excellent memories of this day last year!

So glad you appreciated the scan. Feel free to use it in your lj if you'd like to - or indeed I can do you a better one! :-D

Whimpers. I can't go. I'm at Dragoncon that weekend otherwise, I'd be buying my plane tickets right now.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that, my dear! I was hoping you could make it. Still, I hope you have a great deal of fun at Dragoncon. ♥

ARGH! >.<
I soooo want to go, and London is only 25 minutes from here, but it's like 4 days from my due date, and I really don't fancy going into labour in the BFI *lol*
So not fair! -.-

Oh, come on, sweetness...! All you need here is an extra dose of adventurousness - and then you can name the little one Bradley Colin Plinks or Katie Angel Plinks in honour of the occasion! :-D

Seriously, though... I'm wishing you well. ♥♥♥

We're going on holiday the next day but what the heck - anything for Camelot !!
Do we have to take a child or is my inner child okay to go with me ?? - if I can get ticket/s for us of course.
Merlin Locations moderator: bfi bradley+colin backstage 090906[info]merlocmod on July 24th, 2010 08:22 pm (UTC)
That's the spirit! :-D

I have scoured the literature, and have found nothing about adults having to be accompanied by children. It was pretty prominently advised for the event I saw earlier this year, so I'm hoping that it won't be the case this time. But there may be more info to come, so I wouldn't like to promise either way. {crosses fingers}

P.S. That is one awesome icon to be using in this community, hon! :-D

Thank you so much for the news! I'll be arriving in London just the day before (from France) and I really hope I'll be able to get a ticket. Do you know how much it will cost approximatively? I didn't see anything on the BFI site. :)
Merlin Locations moderator: bfi bradley+colin backstage 090906[info]merlocmod on July 26th, 2010 05:12 pm (UTC)
Cool! I am so glad the timing works out for you. :-D

Um, if I'm reading this right, an adult ticket will be £7.60 - or £5.00 if you're with a kid. Kid's tickets are £5.00 because it's a preview... Hhhmmm... I'm going to scan this in and see if anyone else has a different interpretation!

Thank you for posting all the ticket prices, because I couldn't find then anywhere!!! I don't suppose you know what sort of ages the workshop is for?? Because it sounds a lot of fun, but I don't want me and my friends to be the only teenagers there lol! Thanks again ^^
Merlin Locations moderator: bfi bradley+colin backstage 090906[info]merlocmod on July 29th, 2010 09:22 pm (UTC)
Glad to be of help, hon! :-D

If the 'workshop' is anything like last year, then it's a whole lot of different activities going on in the foyer. As far as I'm aware, anyone could participate - though some things (like available costumes for green-screen photos) might be targetted at kids only. In any case, there will be plenty of people about who are 'young at heart' rather than just young, so I'm sure you won't feel out of place. ♥

OMG I so want to go but don't know if I can ...
France - London , London - France, Paris - Compiegene, Pierrefonds, that would be a very busy week ^^

This may probably sound like a stupid question, but what is exactly the link to the BFI websites and how do we book tickets online ?

Thank in advance for your reply ^^

BFI has put Merlin on their site.

Merlin at BFI

Does anyone know how much shipping costs are for tickets to Holland?

Edited at 2010-08-02 01:35 pm (UTC)
Merlin Locations moderator: bfi bradley+colin backstage 090906[info]merlocmod on August 2nd, 2010 02:02 pm (UTC)
Hello there!

No idea re the shipping costs - though the website itself would surely tell you once you can start up the online booking process. However, if that's an issue, you always have the option of simply collecting the tickets at the box office on the day (which I have done before, with no dramas).

Good luck!
